The Coffee Table..Part 2.

Our Coffee Table
is officially a...
Play Table!

Yep, it has been over 2 months now and the coffee table is officially Jake and Jack's "Home Base" when it comes to play!  Johnny quickly secured the fireplace screen after being home for JUST ONE DAY! That is all it took for him. It took me weeks and weeks of almost pulling out my hair trying to convince him and all I needed to do was have him walk in my shoes for one day! (So, this is why I am always so stressed and frazzled... and fatigued!) So, now, the boys play freely up on top of the coffee table and around the fireplace screen. I'll have to admit, I am okay with them playing up there. They read books, move their trains back and forth, stack blocks and more! They love the coffee table, it has become their home.

We had friends over this weekend that have not seen the boys since they were six months old. They were delighted to see how big they have become and how active they are! However, it was impossible not to notice their concerned facial expressions when my two little monkeys climbed their way up on top of the 'play' table and practically skipped around! Our guests, with their hearts pounding with fear, asked, "Well, aren't you going to get them down from there; isn't that just too dangerous for them; won't they fall and crack their little skulls?"

Little did they know, I was once "there" in that state of mind. Constantly agonizing over how to correctly discipline the boys and keep them down! How I once day dreamed of throwing the coffee table out the window. But now, 2 months later, and one secured fireplace, my heart is at ease, my thoughts are calm and I can enjoy some down time, while they enjoy their play table! I now say, "Let em' play, they'll be fine!"
